Özet |
Metal matrix composites (MMC) are an important engineering material used in automotive, space and aviation applications. In MMC, there are fabrication techniques such as solid state fabrication, liquid state fabrication, solid-liquid state fabrication. Among the MMC fabrication techniques, the most economical method is the stir casting. In this study, 7 vol.% and 10 vol.% SiC reinforced AA6060 matrix composite and AA6060 matrix was produced by squeeze assisted stir casting technique. The fabricated materials were examined metallographic and mechanical properties such as hardness density and porosity. As a result of the metallographic examinations, it has been found that the composites are partially homogeneous. It is observed that as the volume reinforcement ratio increases, the hardness and density increase. |
