Özet |
In this study, forced turbulent convection of NiO/H2O in the dimpled tube was investigated numerically at 20000≤ Re≤ 50000. The dimpled tube with three different pitch ratios (P/d= 30-15-7.5) were examined using Multi-phase Model (mixture). The volumetric fraction of the nanofluid is 0.6%. As a result, it was determined that Nusselt number and Darcy friction factor increased with increasing Reynolds number and decreasing pitch ratio.Introduction/Background: Heat transfer enhancement is one of the peak technical challenges facing high-tech industries. Fertile heating/cooling is inevitable process for preserving desired performance. Thus, energy-efficient methods are required to obtain high-efficiency heat transfer. Using smooth tubes in heating systems can induce to deficiency of thermal performance. Hence, research with new techniques to enhance heat transfer is indispensable. One of these methods is the use of dimpled fins in channel. Researchers have previously studied experimentally and numerically the airflow and water flow within the dimpled finned channel. Kumar et al.[1] developed heat convection correlations for duct airflow with spherical dimpled fins. The purpose of the study was that the optimum thermal recovery determines by applying several configurations between the fin spacing of 15-35 mm and the fin diameters of 0.5-1.5 mm. It was determined that the maximum thermal recovery rate was 4.19 for 1 mm fin diameter and 15 mm fin pitch.
