Özet |
The first purpose of this study is to provide a detailed perspective for the reasons of the non-obligatory use of Open Educational Resources within a formal education context. Specifically, the first purpose is related with why and how students prefer to use/ not to use OER. The second purpose is to provide a detailed description for the use of OER within a freshmen Chemistry laboratory course context. These laboratory courses were prepared for a OpenCourseWare in video and virtual experiments formats. Through these purposes, a single case study method was used to conduct the research. Based on the preliminary results, two factors (motivation and sustainability) for the use of OER and three factors (quality of the resources, need for the OER and external factors) for not to use of OER revealed. Practitioners and researchers may benefit from the findings of this study. |
