Abstract
New science and technology program caused various difficulties for carrying out teachers’ and students’ responsibilities in teaching activities. In renewed textbooks, difficulties of forming and giving meaning to concept maps are one of these hardships and should be investigated. Improving skills of students about forming, giving meaning to concept maps and answering questions asked with concept maps is aim of this study. The study was realized with action research. Data were acquired from application of activities prepared with constructivist approach and group interviews. Before the applications, students are failed at forming and giving meaning to concept maps. At the end, success of the students increased and how concept maps need to be form were reached. Finally, it was proposed teachers must give knowledge to students about forming concept maps before using at teaching, must avoid pure concept maps and must use for once more aim at teaching activities.
