Özet
Learning about heat and temperature is accepted as an important objective of science teaching starting from the primary school. This creates the need for teaching them with simplifications because of their abstract nature. However, traditional teaching approaches have failed to respond to this need properly. Hence, this is an inquiry to seek the effectiveness of using different conceptual change methods (conceptual change text, analogy and worksheet) embedded within 5E model on the teaching and learning of heat and temperature with a class of 12 children at 5th grade of a primary school in Trabzon, Turkey. The Data of the study was collected with some open ended questions before and after the teaching interventions.
