| In this study, some mechanical properties of Paulownia (Paulownia elongata) wood obtained from Menderes-İzmir region were investigated using related Turkish standards. Compression strength parallel to the grain, static bending strength, modulus of elasticity and impact bending were determined. The compression strength parallel to the grain, static bending strength, modulus of elasticity and impact bending were determined 36.70 N/mm2, 35.79 N/mm2, 3883.14 N/mm2, 0.25 kgm/cm2 respectively. According to findings, it can be stated that paulownia wood can be used for the production of some furniture parts, packaging box, woodworking, wood room divider and some other commodity which doesn’t require mechanical performance. |
