Özet |
In this study, three high chromium white cast irons were examined to determine the effect of the carbon content on the microstructure and hardness. Carbon content was changed as 2 wt.%, 3 wt.%, and 4 wt.%. Carbide distribution and carbide amount in the alloys were determined by changing the carbon content. After the alloys prepared were melted at 1450 C, they were produced in desired sizes using the sand mold casting method. Microstructure and microhardness of alloys were examined using X-ray diffractometer (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and microhardness device. It was observed that with the increase in carbon content, carbide amount increased also different phases and structures occurred in the microstructure. |
