| Wood skidding activities have caused significant changes on soil organic matter and forest herbaceous cover. Harmful of plant nutrient rich herbaceous cover is very important, since it has influence negatively on forest hydraulic properties. In this study, it was investigated spruce (Picea orientalis) forests spread the Eastern Black Sea Regions of Turkey. We examined postharvesting differences/changing on soil organic matter and forest death plant cover (L, F, H covers). Soil analyses were done pre-and post-harvesting taken soil depth (0–20 cm and 20–50 cm) 48 soil samples and 48 herbaceous covers. Wood skidding caused of removing/carrying surface soil and organic matter on forest floor. Therefore we determined decreasing of the amount of death plant cover. It is seen that the bulk density of death plant cover were significantly diminished. |
