| Özet |
| The age, body length, body weight, body condition and spawning period of chub (Leuciscus cephalus) in Turkey are presented. Fork lengths were 6.9-21.5 cm in males and 7.5-23.6 cm in females. Growth performances for the entire population and for males and females were 2.103, 2.029 and 2.135, while condition factors were 1.60±0.01, 1.58±0.01 and 1.63±0.01, respectively. 287 of the fish caught were males (48.81%) and 301 were females (51.19%). In terms of sex distribution, males were dominant in the first age but females were dominant in the 4th, 5th and 6th ages. More than 50% of males 8.0-8.9 cm in length 10.0-19.9 g in weight and at the end of the first age group and more than 50% of females 11.0-11.9 cm in length, 20.0-29.9 g in weight and at the end of the second age group were sexually mature. The spawning period was from the second half of May to the end of June. |
