| This study was carried out with the purpose of studying the reproduction biology of barbel living in the Koçkopru dam lake and its inlets. The male:female ratio was calculated as 1:061, and males were found to be dominant. It was determined that males reached to the sexual maturity after their first year, females reached to sexual maturity after their second year. Spawning took place most intensively in June. Relative fecundity was found to be 190 ± 25 (105 - 282) per cm length, 38 ± 3 (25-46) per g body weight, and 444 ± 37 (310 - 557) per g gonad weight. At the start of the spawning season, egg diameter was measured as 1.903 ± 0.009 mm. |
