Özet |
Ionosphere is a highly varying, anisotropic and inhomogeneous magnetoplasma which is very challenging to model and predict. It is an atmospheric layer that extends between 50 km and 1000 km. The fundamental defining parameter of ionosphere is electron density. Total Electron Content (TEC) is a derived parameter from electron density and it is defined as the line integral of electron density on a ray path. TEC contains the projection of ionospheric electron distribution and it can be used to model, reconstruct and predict ionospheric variability. The wide spread use of Global Positioning System (GPS) dualfrequency receivers provide a cost-effective solution to estimation of TEC. In this study, a fast algorithm is developed for the automatic detection of the variability in Vertical TEC (VTEC) data. The developed method, namely Differential Rate of TEC (DRoT), is based on Rate of Tec (RoT) method. It is observed that DRoT values increases during the earthquake periods. There are anomalies in TEC and DRoT values that are observed in the geomagnetic activity days. DRoT values in the quiet days are smaller than those in the disturbed days. |
