Özet
Exhibiting a high economic growth rate inrecent years, energy demand has increased rapidly in Turkey. Despite having agreat potential in terms of renewable energy sources, Turkey has not utilizedthis potential sufficiently to meet this demand. However, among variousrenewable energy sources, solar energy stands out in terms of investments andincentives in Turkey. In this study, progress and outlook of photovoltaicsystems in Turkey are reviewed considering the potential, the incentives andthe investments. In this context, ratio of the Photovoltaic Solar Power Plantswithin both overall installed power and the total generated energy over theyears is investigated geopolitically. Ongoing and planned investments forPhotovoltaic Solar Power Plants and the incentives provided by the governmentare reviewed by taking into consideration the geographical regions of thecountry. It is observed that the installed power capacity of active solarphotovoltaic power plants increases by more than four times compared to theprevious year, as of the end of 2017, owing to incentives and investments.Solar energy power capacity is expected to contribute significantly to thetotal installed power capacity over the next few years.
