| Aim of study: In the present work, it was aimed to determine the impacts of 4th industrial revolution on forest products industry.Area of study: The scope of this research primarily concerns with wood-based products, non-wood forest products were excluded.Material and methods: A comprehensive literature review was conducted and the findings were interpreted.Main results: The industry 4.0 can make the manufacturing companies more efficient and profitable with fewer employees. In the forestry sector, automation and industrial optimization provide great advantages in terms of performance and production gain. Highlights: Digitalization should be a must for the forest-based industries. |
