Özet |
Cluster analysis was applied to understand the climate interconnection among 79 chronologies of different species, altitude, latitude, and longitude in the eastern Mediterranean (EM). The tree-ring chronologies were classified into 6 clusters by K-means clustering and discriminant forward stepwise analysis (Fig. 1). All clusters are significantly different in elevation (F (5, 73)= 7.01, p< 0.00003) according to a one-way ANOVA (Univariate Significance Test). Average elevation difference between clusters is about 70-100 meters. Therefore, a relatively slight increase in elevation is associated with a change in the tree-ring growth pattern. Based on response function analysis and the derived classification, it was shown that May-July precipitation is a primary factor for tree-ring growth and that elevation (altitude) governs the growth response to moisture. Results suggest that remote meteostations at the same altitude as the … |
