Özet
Fir is the taxon which is generally subjected to the selection forests in Turkish forestry. In selection forests, the limit diameter is the main criteria on planning and managing. Main aim of this present study is to determine the formation and level of the heart rot and the limit diameter of Abies nordmanniana subsp. bornmiilleriana Mattf according to aspects and altitudes. For this purpose, at different altitudes (900-1200 in, 1200-1500 m and 1500-1800 m) and two aspects (south, north), the fir trees which have maximum bottom diameter were cut and then they were checked for the heart rot.At the end of the study, it has been noted that the heart rot starts in low diameter and in the practice of the Turkey's forestry, all fir trees with the limit diameter of 60 cm have the heart rot.
