Özet
The application of the Fenton process for the treatment of cosmetics industry wastewater was investigated. The effects of different parameters such as reaction time, pH, temperature, Fe2+ and H2O2 concentrations on COD and TOC removal during the process were characterized. According to the obtained results in 36°C temperature, the optimum reaction time, pH, Fe2+ and H2O2 concentrations were 90 minutes, pH 3, 1 g/L and 17.5 g/L, respectively. COD and TOC removal efficiencies were 89.6% and 76.9%. Furthermore, the COD and TOC removal via the Fenton process at different temperatures were investigated and kinetic analysis was performed based on COD. The COD degradation during the Fenton process followed pseudo first-order reaction kinetics. The apparent activation energy (Ea) was 117.7 kJ/mol.
