Özet
The age of the patient and the time interval between the cardiac arrest and cardiopulmonary ressusitaion are the most important factors that effect the neurologic prognosis. The neurological complications of cardiac arrest varies from fully alert to persistent vegetative state and brain death. All these neurologic outcomes are correlated with the severity of brain damage after ischemia. In this report, we discussed the persistent vegetative state that was occured after cardiac arrest by the view of literature. In conclusion, the importance of early resusitation in anoxic patients was emphasized.
