Özet
This study was carried out in Erzurum ecological conditions between 2011 and 2012. The aim of the study was to evaluate the yield and yield characteristics of some sugar beet varieties. In this study, five sugar beet varieties (Aranka, Esperia, SR-374, Eldorado and Idaho) were used, and Root yields, sugar contents, sugar yields and dry matter contents were investigated. There were significant differences (p< 0.01) between the varieties in terms of investigated characters. The highest root and sugar yield were in Eldorada (6899-1213 kg/da, respectively), and sugar content and dry matter content were in Idaho (18.9-22% respectively). As a result, Eldorada, which has the highest root yield per decare, and Idaho, which has the highest sugar content, can be recommended for Erzurum region.
