Özet
The main objective of this book, which is based on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948), is to raise awareness on human rights and social responsibilities in the fields of library and information studies, and to encourage people and institutions working in these fields to take a more active and participatory position in this context. The conventional neutral librarian /information professional profile is questioned with regards to any ongoing social problems or conflicts, such as war, hunger, poverty, otherization or any other issues that interest the community, and being a link in the chain for solutions to social problems is considered as a human and professional/ethical responsibility in this book.
