Özet |
The phenomenon of consumption has ceased to be a tool for meeting basic needs, but has become a purpose and a reason for life. Creating social status and identity, providing social, cultural and psychological satisfaction have become the basic principles of consumption. In the consumer society we live in, all individuals are under pressure to consume excessively, and as a result, spiritual values are consumed along with material values. The people of the twenty-first century have sought new ways of life that will be an alternative to the consumer society and the materialistic lifestyle, and have turned towards a" simple, creative and functional" life that includes" simplicity". Global consumers who reduce their consumption reduce their ecological footprint and increase the likelihood of leaving more resources for future generations. This study was carried out with the idea of raising awareness by bringing the voluntary simplicity lifestyle, which is an alternative lifestyle today, to the agenda of policy makers, decision makers and consumers. In the first part of the study, the concept of voluntary simplicity lifestyle is introduced with its historical development; In the second part, voluntary simplicity is explained with lifestyle dimensions and core values. In the last part, the characteristics of voluntary simples who adopt the voluntary simplicity lifestyle and some of the practices of voluntary simples in Turkey are mentioned |
