Examining the opinions of teachers regarding the use of primary school mathematics textbooks in terms of some variables

The aim of this study is to determine the opinions of teachers on elementary school Mathematics guide books, textbooks and workbooks. The research is based on a screening model. Data obtained at the end of the application were analyzed through the SPSS 15 software package. Frequency, percentage, mathematical average, Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal Wallis H test were used in the data analysis. When the findings of the study are examined, it can be seen that in average, 75% of the teachers use mathematics guide books, textbooks and workbooks frequently and during each and every time period; use of mathematics guide books does neither differ according to level of education completed by teachers nor according to the graduated program and level of grades teachers teach. However, a significant difference can be observed according to their seniority in the profession and the socio-economic level of the schools in which the teachers work; use of mathematics textbooks does not differ according to the graduated program and level of grades teachers teach while a significant difference can be observed according to their seniority in the profession and the socio-economic level of the schools in which the teachers work.
