Özet
Cedrus libani A. Rich. known as 'Turkish Cedar" is an important native tree species of Taurus Mountains in Turkiye. The largest native forest of C. libani (417.188, 5 ha) in the world has been naturally found and distributed in southern parts of the country. In addition to this fact Cedrus libani found as relict stands in Emirdağ Mountain of Central Anatolia, and near Akıncı and Catalan villages of Central Black Sea Region that are very close to the Black Sea coast of northern Turkiye. There are also southernmost relict distribution in Syria (400 ha) and Lebanon Antitaurusus (2.200 ha) which are continuous range of Turkish Taurus Mountains. Calomicrus apicalis Demaison, 1891 (Col.: Chrysomelidae) is an endemic species and a new pest to Taurus Cedar populations. For the first time the pest was found in Hatay-Hassa-Akbez forests in 1891.
