Özet
Tourism has rapidly become a significant industry worldwide, contributing significantly to the economic development and employment of countries There is no universally agreed-upon definition of tourism, as it has been described by various individuals in different ways In 1980, AIEST (International Association of Scientific Experts in Tourism) defined tourism as “The set of events and relationships arising from people’s travels outside the places where they permanently reside, work and meet their usual needs, and their temporary accommodation by requesting goods and services generally produced by tourism enterprises ”(Kozak, Kozak, & Kozak, 2013) The tourism sector, which is one of the fastest growing sectors in the world, have increased its diversity day by day In tourism activities, which are considered an important source of income and employment for countries and regions, touristic demand is shifting from sea, sand and sun tourism to alternative tourism activities (Alili, 2017) As the diversity in the tourism sector increases, the seasonal dependence of tourism also disappears, and the seasonal income-employment potential can be spread over an entire year Special interest tourism is one of the types of tourism that does not have seasonal dependence Dark tourism, one of these types of tourism, is a new field in terms of tourism field (Yildiz et al , 2015) In this context, dark tourism has taken its place as a new type of alternative tourism that is increasing in popularity day by day Due to the nature of tourism, unlike goals such as relaxing, having fun, having a good time, dark tourism contains grief and sadness in it Tragic …
