| In this study, the performance of mobile bark stripping machines and motorized saws in the bark stripping process for black pine wood production was compared in terms of time and quality at the Beykoz Forest Enterprises of the Daday Forest Management Directorate of the Kastamonu Forest Regional Directorate. To this end, a time measurement technique using the stopwatch reset method was employed to conduct a work-time analysis of debarking for similar diameter and length classes of pulp wood, logs, and my prop. As a result of the study, the debarking times for the mobile debarking machine and the chainsaw were determined, and their performance was demonstrated. When considering wood volume, the mobile debarking machine operated at approximately 2.4 times higher efficiency than the chainsaw; when considering barking area, it operated at 2.3 times higher efficiency; and when considering bark volume, it operated at 2.6 times higher efficiency. It was determined that the mobile debarking machine is superior to the chainsaw in terms of shorter processing time and higher barking capacity. |
