| Özet |
| Composites are commonly used in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to fulfill the specifications of lightweight and large strength-to-weight ratio. The application of the composites, originated in the aerospace sector has been expanded to suit the needs of the UAV design. Carbon fiber, glass fiber and Kevlar, and composite hybrid of these fibers in conjunction with disparate resin systems, provide the mechanical capability applicable to a variety of mission missions. As these materials are considered in terms of their basic properties including tensile strength, elastic modulus and fatigue the difference in their behavior under different operational conditions is also considered. The production process involves the use of autoclave curing, vacuum infusion, resin transfer molding (RTM), filament winding and three-dimensional printing techniques which are widely used in recent years. The impact of the techniques regarding cost, time of production as well as the performance of the parts is evaluated and suitable techniques are prescribed in respect to different cases of production; whether low level of production or mass production. As an example autoclave-cured parts are strong mechanically, and vacuum infusion can be described by its recent (process) automation and prototypability. Conversely, non-destructive testing methods are also capable of guaranteeing reliability of composite structures. Surface and internal defects can be detected by ultrasonic tests, thermography and acoustic emission methods. Secondly, fiber optic and piezoelectric sensor based monitoring systems have the capability of monitoring the real-time development of damage … |
