Özet
This study examines the dynamics shaping women’s participation in overnight hiking in Türkiye, drawing on the Socio-Ecological Model (SEM) and principles of feminist governance. Based on semi-structured interviews with eleven women, the findings reveal how individual motivations, interpersonal support, community belonging, and sociopolitical factors jointly influence engagement in nature-based recreation. Participants described personal transformation, emotional resilience, and solidarity as key enablers, while gendered labor expectations, infrastructural limitations, safety concerns, and unequal access to resources served as barriers. The study highlights that women’s outdoor recreation is not merely personal leisure but also intersects with struggles for visibility, spatial justice, and inclusion.
