| In this study, it is aim to determine the water quality characteristics of Karagol, located in Gokdere plain of Erzin, Hatay. Karagol, Which is a natural lake and feed by rain and snow, has a total area of 0,15 km(2), and altitude of 273 m. The study was started May 2003, water quality paramaters of pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature, salinity, Chemical oxygen demand (COD), total alkalinity and hardness, ammonia, nitr, te, nitrate, phosphate, sulphate, sulphite, chloride, potassium, sodium, silica were measured monthly for 12 months. According to measured data current water quality characteristics and their monthly variation has determined. Decrease water temperature during the winter months by merging the snow water into the lake and at the same time increased oxygen concentration, similar alkalinity and hardness values through the year has clearly been noticed.
