| Özet |
| Forest ecosystem is considered as an important carbon sink, in which 76%-78% of the organic carbon of terrestrial ecosystems is stored and has a significant contribution in reducing the impact of the global CO2 emissions and maintaining regional or even global climate stability. Forest ecosystem carbon budgets are helpful for improving our understanding of the terrestrial carbon cycle and for supporting the decision-making process in forest management process. Therefore, determining carbon sequestration in forest ecosystem is of particular interest to researchers and policy makers. In this study, temporal and spatial change in carbon storage (aboveground plus belowground) was determined using ArcGIS 9.3TM in Türkoğlu planning unit for 1991 and 2002 and carbon storage map was produced. Biomass increased 52021 m3 and carbon storages also increased 26342 (%19.5) tons during a 11-year period … |
