Özet
The study aims to identify, analyze, and demonstrate the knowledge of plant use in folk medicine in the district of Akcaabat (Turkey). A face-to-face two-part questionnaire was conducted with 126 local people. Identification of 80 plant taxa belonging to 37 families was confirmed, and their medicinal uses were recorded. The collected data was analyzed quantitatively using three indices: informant consensus factor, use-value, and relative frequency citation. The highest use-values and relative frequency citations were recorded for Mentha spicata (0.317 and 0.270 respectively), and the highest informant consensus factor was cited for respiratory disorders (0.76). New areas of use were also determined for Spinacia oleracea, Asplenium scolopendrium, Cucurbita moschata, Zea mays, and Actinidia deliciosa.
