Özet
The water absorption of wood polymer nanocomposites prepared from polypropylene/pine wood flour, carbon nanotube and coupling agent was studied. The pine wood flour, carbon nanotube and MAPP were compounded in a twin screw co-rotating extruder. Test specimens were produced by injection molding process from the pellets dried to moisture content of 1%. Long term water absorptions of manufactured nanocomposites were evaluated by immersing them in water at room temperature for several weeks (for 6 months). Results indicated that water absorption and thickness swelling properties increased with increasing carbon nanotube content. Also adding the MAPP improved the dimensional stability properties of the nanocomposites.
