Özet
In this research based on correlational models, teacher candidates were examined through a structural equation model based on career adaptations, career callings and career adaptation abilities. The research group consists of a total of 219 teacher candidates who are educated in the faculty of education of a public university in Central Anatolia. Career Adaptability Scale, Career Calling Scale and Career Adaptability Scale were used to collect data in the study. According to the results, career calling is the most powerful predictor of career adaptation (t= 7.26; β= 0.66; p< 0.01). One-point increase in career calling increases career adaptability by 0.66 points. Similarly, career adaptabilities predicts career adaptability (t= 6.37; β= 0.35 p< 0.01). Accordingly, one-unit increase in using adaptabilities increases career adaptability by 0.35 unit. Besides, indirect effect of career adaptabilities on career adaptability was 0.18. The total effect size of career calling was found to be 0.84. It has come to the conclusion that it is important for teachers candidates to use their career adaptabilities as well as having a career calling for career adaptability.
