Short-horizon forecasting is increasingly important for cleaner-production and resilience-oriented monitoring in forest-based value chains, where production capacity, trade flows, and procurement decisions can change rapidly under structural disruption. However, existing forecasting studies in wood-related sectors are mostly application-specific and rarely test whether model rankings remain stable across production and trade tasks, official-data coverage constraints, and pre-shock, shock, and post-shock regimes. This study develops WSF-Bench, a regime-aware benchmarking framework for monthly monitoring of wood-related production and trade systems in Europe.
