Özet
This study investigates the synergistic effects of nano-clay (NC) incorporation and waste tire aggregate (TA) substitution on the mechanical, thermal, and durability performance of alkali-activated composites (AACs). Ground granulated blast furnace slag (GBFS) served as the primary precursor, with NC introduced at 0–5% by binder weight and TA replacing river sand at 0–50% by volume. Specimens were thermally cured at 80 C for 8 h and evaluated for compressive and flexural strength, oven-dry density, porosity, water absorption, sorptivity, thermal resistance, freeze–thaw durability, and sulfate attack resistance, supported by SEM–EDS microstructural analysis. Results showed that moderate NC addition (≈ 3%) significantly enhanced matrix densification, yielding peak compressive (40.15 MPa) and flexural strengths (4.21 MPa) with reduced porosity (6.79%), water absorption (5.35%), and sorptivity (1.27).
