Özet |
The science course is a profession that is specialized in the subject area and that needs to be taught by the teachers who constantly renew themselves, follow the rapid changes and developments in technology, and adapt to this change. It is clear how difficult this process is, especially given that primary school teachers have knowledge of more than one discipline. In this research, the attitudes of the primary school teachers towards science teaching were examined and the effect of these attitudes on the science achievement of the students was tried to be determined. In this framework, the survey model was used in general. Since the relationship between the attitudes of teachers and the academic achievement of students is examined, the research also has a relational screening feature. Within the scope of the study, 30 primary school teachers for 5th degrees who work in 14 primary schools in Sivas province and 423 students that these teachers are giving education were included in the study. In the scope of the research, quantitative data collection instruments were used, Teacher Attitude Scale towards Science Education and achievement test developed by researchers were used. Iteman 3.00 and SPSS 17.0 package programs were used in the analysis of the data. According to the results of the research, a moderate correlation between the teachers' attitudes towards science teaching and the academic achievement of the students was determined. |
