| In this study, geographic factors that could be indicative of the spatial distribution of rainfall in Mersin province have been examined. In this context, spatial distribution maps of rainfall was obtained with the interpolation from the mean annual rainfall data belonging to meteorological stations in Mersin province and its surroundings. Between the rainfall map and certain geographic features that make up the physical characteristics in geography, it has been determined a visual compatibility.Within the sub-regional distribution of rainfall in Mersin province;Sub-regions in which younger limestones forming the geological structure are removed, Sub-regions in which landforms become various and the streams frequency increase, Sub-regions in which productive forests and the species in the form of tall tree increase,Sub-regions in which pH, lime, salt rates in the soil are decreased appear as the zones receiving much … |
